The Battle of Ardnocher or Ardnurcher (Irish: Áth an Urchair) was fought in modern County Westmeath, Ireland on 10 August 1329 between the Hiberno-Normans and the MacGeoghegans of Cenel Fiachaigh or Kenaleagh. The Normans were defeated. The Annales Hiberniae records that on 10 August 1329, Crown forces led by Thomas Butler attacked the fort of Ardnurcher (now the village of Horseleap) but were defeated by William Gallda MacGeoghegan.

The naval Battle of Saint-Mathieu took place on 10 August 1512 during the War of the League of Cambrai, near Brest, France, between an English fleet of 25 ships commanded by Sir Edward Howard and a Franco-Breton fleet of 22 ships commanded by René de Clermont. It is possibly the first battle between ships using cannon through ports, although this played a minor role in the fighting. This was one of only two full-fledged naval battles fought by King Henry VIII's Navy Royal. During the battle, each navy's largest and most powerful ship—Regent and Marie-la-Cordelière (or simply Cordelière)—was destroyed by a large explosion aboard the latter.

The Battle of Colachel (or The Battle of Kolachel) was fought on 10 August 1741 [O.S. 31 July 1741] between the Indian kingdom of Travancore and the Dutch East India Company. During the Travancore-Dutch War, King Marthanda Varma's (1729–1758) forces defeated the Dutch East India Company's forces led by Admiral Eustachius De Lannoy on 10 August 1741. Travancore triumphed in the war with the military efforts of the Travancore army at land and fishermen community at sea. The war marked the beginning of the long-standing conflicts and negotiations that later became known as the Travancore–Dutch War.

After the defeat of the Marathas at the Battle of Panipat, their rivals started seizing the opportunity to recover their losses in the past at the hands of Marathas. The Battle of Pälkjärvi was fought between Swedish and Russian forces at the municipality of Pälkjärvi in present-day Russia on 10 August 1808 during the Finnish War. The Swedes launched a night attack, and Ilya Alekseyev, the Russian commander, discovered the danger of his position, being surrounded, and under Swedish pressure sounded the retreat, having managed to break out of the encirclement thanks to the size of his detachment.

The invasion of Guadeloupe occurred between 8 and 10 August 1815 during the Hundred Days. Following Napoleon's return to power, a conflict began in the French West Indian colony of Guadeloupe over whether or not to support him, which ended on 19 June when Governor Charles-Alexandre Linois declared his support for Napoleon. A British expeditionary force under Lieutenant-general Sir James Leith, augmented by French forces from Martinique, proceeded to set sail for Guadeloupe.

The Battle of Silao took place on August 10, 1860 in the vicinity of Silao in Guanajuato state, Mexico, between elements of the liberal army, under the command of General Jesus Gonzalez Ortega and Ignacio Zaragoza with a force of 8,000 men and elements of the conservative army commanded General Miguel Miramon by commanding an army of 3,282 during the War of Reform. The battle ended as liberal victory, even almost captures the General Miguel Miramon who escaped in the disorder that generated them Republican artillery, leaving artillery, ammunition and implements of war.

The Battle of Wilson's Creek, also known as the Battle of Oak Hills, was the first major battle of the Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War. It was fought on August 10, 1861, near Springfield, Missouri. In August, Confederates under Brigadier General Benjamin McCulloch and Missouri State Guard troops under Maj. Gen. Sterling Price approached Brig. Gen. Nathaniel Lyon's Army of the West, camped at Springfield.

The Nueces Massacre, also known as the Massacre on the Nueces, was a violent confrontation between Confederate soldiers and German Texans on August 10, 1862, in Kinney County, Texas. Many first-generation immigrants from Germany settled in Central Texas in a region known as the Hill Country. They tended to support the Union and were opposed to the institution of slavery. Because of these sentiments, the Confederate States of America imposed martial law on Central Texas. A group of Germans, fleeing from the Hill Country to Mexico and onward after that to Union-controlled New Orleans, was confronted by a company of Confederate soldiers on the banks of the Nueces River.

The Uruguayan War (10 August 1864 – 20 February 1865) was fought between Uruguay's governing Blanco Party and an alliance consisting of the Empire of Brazil and the Uruguayan Colorado Party, covertly supported by Argentina. Since its independence, Uruguay had been ravaged by intermittent struggles between the Colorado and Blanco factions, each attempting to seize and maintain power in turn. The Colorado leader Venancio Flores launched the Liberating Crusade in 1863, an insurrection aimed at toppling Bernardo Berro, who presided over a Colorado–Blanco coalition (Fusionist) government. Flores was aided by Argentina, whose president Bartolomé Mitre provided him with supplies, Argentine volunteers and river transport for troops.

The Battle of the Yellow Sea (Japanese: 黄海海戦 Kōkai kaisen; Russian: Бой в Жёлтом море) was a major naval engagement of the Russo-Japanese War, fought on 10 August 1904. In the Russian Navy, it was referred to as the Battle of 10 August. The battle foiled an attempt by the Russian fleet at Port Arthur to break out and form up with counterparts from Vladivostok, forcing them to return to port. Four days later, the Battle off Ulsan similarly ended the Vladivostok group's sortie, forcing both fleets to remain at anchor.

Bloodymania II was a professional wrestling event produced by Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW), which took place at midnight on August 10, 2008 at Hog Rock in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Professional wrestling is a type of sports entertainment in which theatrical events are combined with a competitive sport. The buildup to the matches and the scenarios that took place before, during, and after the event, were planned by JCW's script writers. The event starred wrestlers from JCW's SlamTV! internet wrestling show, as well as guest wrestlers from the independent circuit. Six matches were held on the event's card.

The Ghazni offensive began on 10 August 2018, when Taliban fighters launched an assault on the city of Ghazni, Afghanistan's sixth largest city and one which has been culturally and strategically important for much of the country's history. The 2019 Bærum murder and mosque attack occurred on 10 August 2019 at the Al-Noor Islamic Centre in Bærum, Norway, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of the capital city Oslo. Philip Manshaus, a 21-year-old Norwegian man, murdered his 17-year-old adopted sister Johanne Ihle-Hansen at their home. He then drove to the mosque and shot his way through the glass door before opening fire, hitting no one; the mosque was almost empty, as prayer had ended.

The 2025 Zambian Charity Shield was the 60th edition of the Zambian Charity Shield, an annual association football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Zambia Super League and the ABSA Cup. It was played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on 10 August 2025, and featured the 2024–25 Zambia Super League champions Power Dynamos and the 2025 ABSA Cup winners ZESCO United.
