The Battle of Maeso (Hangul: 매소성 전투; hanja: 買肖城戰鬪) was a battle between Silla and Tang forces in the Korean peninsula.On September 29, 675, a confrontation occurred between a Silla of 30,000 under the command of Kim Wonsul and a Tang of 200,000 troops under Li Jinxing. Silla killed 6,047 cavalry of Tang and got 30,380 horses and weapons of about 30,000.

Russian and Ukrainian Cossack forces under Vasily Borisovich Sheremetev and Bohdan Khmelnytsky engaged a Polish–Lithuanian army under Stanisław "Rewera" Potocki near Gródek Jagielloński, which at that time was part of Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth's Ruthenian Voivodeship (now Horodok, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine).

The Combat of Rosslau was fought in the War of the Sixth Coalition on 29 September 1813, near Rosslau, Germany. Michel Ney attacked the Swedish bridgehead at the Elbe, to stop the Army of the North from crossing the river. The Swedish commander Johan August Sandels counterattacked and chased the French for 5 km (3 mi) before being forced to retire himself.

1858 — Battle of Ahualulco
The Battle of Ahualulco took place on 29 September 1858 during the War of Reform, near the town of Ahualulco in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, between elements of the liberal army, commanded by the generals Santiago Vidaurri, Juan Zuazua and Francisco Naranjo and conservative army troops commanded by General Miguel Miramon and Leonardo Márquez. The victory corresponded to the preservative side to cause the liberal side 672 casualties and 91 prisoners. It was one of the most brilliant triumphs of Miramón.

Battle of Shinanah was a major battle of the Saudi–Rashidi War, during the Unification of Saudi Arabia campaign, between Rashidi and Saudi rebels. It occurred on 29 September 1904, in town of Shinanah in Qassim region. After Ibn Saud victory in Battle of Bekeriyah, Ibn Saud planned to conquer the whole Qassim region. Ibn Rashid also planned to regain control on the region. The battle ended with Saudi victory, Ibn Saud gained thousands of the remains Turkish supplies in the town, Ibn Rashid and his Ottoman allies forced to move back to Rawdat Muhanna.

1911 — Italo-Turkish War
The Italo-Turkish or Turco-Italian War (Turkish: Trablusgarp Savaşı, "Tripolitanian War"; also known in Italy as Guerra di Libia, "Libyan War") was fought between the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) and the Kingdom of Italy from September 29, 1911, to October 18, 1912. As a result of this conflict, Italy captured the Ottoman Tripolitania Vilayet (province), of which the main sub-provinces (sanjaks) were Fezzan, Cyrenaica, and Tripoli itself. These territories together formed what became known as Italian Libya. During the conflict, Italian forces also occupied the Dodecanese islands in the Aegean Sea.

On 29 September 1981, an Iranian Air Force C-130 military cargo aircraft crashed into a firing range near Kahrizak, Iran. The plane was flying from Ahvaz, Khuzestan province to Tehran, while returning from an inspection tour of Iranian military gains in the Iran–Iraq War. The crashed killed 80 people, including former Defence Minister Javad Fakoori, then-Defence Minister Mousa Namjoo, then-Chief-of-Staff of the Army Valiollah Fallahi, and then-commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Jahanara.

1996 — Gambian presidential election, 1996
Presidential elections were held in the Gambia on 29 September 1996. The first since the 1994 military coup led by Yahya Jammeh, they were also the first elections to be held under the new constitution, and the first presidential elections held separately from parliamentary elections. Voter turnout was exceptionally high, with 88% of the 446,541 registered voters voting. Despite originally stating that he did not intend to run, Jammeh entered the race shortly before the elections. He emerged victorious with 55.8% of the vote, winning the most votes in every district except Mansa Konko (where UDP candidate Ousainou Darboe was the most voted-for).

2019 — 2019 Austrian legislative election
Legislative elections were held in Austria on 29 September 2019 to elect the 27th National Council, the lower house of Austria's bicameral parliament. The snap election was called in the wake of the Ibiza affair in May, which caused the resignation of Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache and the collapse of the governing coalition of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ).

2022 — 2022–2025 Lebanese presidential election
On 29 September 2022, an indirect election for the Lebanese presidency was initiated to determine the successor of term-limited incumbent Michel Aoun, who took office on 31 October 2016. On 9 January 2025, Joseph Aoun (no relation to Michel), who had been serving as the Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces since 9 March 2017, secured 99 votes to win the presidential election in the second round of the 13th parliamentary session.

2024 — 2024 Austrian legislative election
Legislative elections were held in Austria on 29 September 2024 to elect the 28th National Council, the lower house of Austria's bicameral parliament. The election saw the far-right Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) place first, winning 28.8% of the vote and achieving the best result in the party's history. This was the first time that a far-right party won the most seats in a legislative election in Austria after World War II.
